At the heart of London, our museum is a meeting place for stories - past, present, and future. We are here to enrich understanding and appreciation of the city and all its people, offering a home where the extraordinary and the everyday collide. From the bustling markets to hidden histories, from riotous invention to quiet reflection, we celebrate London in all its richness and complexity.

Experience & Operations roles are vital to this mission. You’ll be part of a team that ensures every visitor feels welcome, every event runs seamlessly, and every corner of the museum hums with life. Here, Grit and Glitter guide everything we do: the depth, texture, and authenticity of the city’s stories, alongside moments of surprise, delight, and magic. As Events Manager, you’ll help create experiences that are vibrant, inclusive, and unforgettable, shaping how thousands of people encounter London every day.

The Events Manager is responsible for the hands-on planning and delivery of a diverse range of events, from corporate hires to public programmes.  You will be directly engaged in every step, ensuring seamless execution, safety, and exceptional guest experiences.  Working closely with the Senior Events Manager and our other Events Managers, you will be a visible, proactive presence on the ground, ensuring each event is delivered to the highest standard, while fostering a positive, solution-focused approach.

Previous experience of working in a museum is not required and you do not need to have any academic qualifications.  This role would suit someone who enjoys turning a creative event vision into reality, with a keen eye for detail.  We are looking for someone with experience of delivering large, complex or high-profile unique events within a public facing venue with a strong focus on ensuring an excellent visitor experience, working knowledge of health and safety legislation, and event compliance requirements and excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple events whilst navigating tight timelines and complex logistics.
