We are on the brink of something extraordinary at London Museum – building a new museum that brings fresh voices, stories, and experiences to life, offering visitors an unforgettable journey through London’s past, present, and future.
As the Smithfield Neighbourhood Programme Creative Producer you will lead on the development and delivery of a vibrant and welcoming creative and community-led public events and engagement programme in the lead-up to and launch of the new London Museum in Smithfield in 2026.
You will commission and produce activities that involve, build relationships with and benefit local communities and which are created with, by and for Londoners. Key projects include taking a lead role on the operating and programming of London Museum Studios, a new temporary creative community space close to the new museum site in Smithfield and overseeing the work of an Engagement Coordinator and volunteers to ensure the successful day-to-day operating of the London Museum Studios space and programme. You will also plan and deliver a community-led creative events programme that includes an annual outdoor summer event programme for local families and a programme of impactful creative projects that support the launch of the new London Museum, working closely with the museum’s Learning and Creative Programmes teams.
You will join the museum’s dynamic and friendly Engagement Team and support wider engagement and community partnership activity with audiences whose experiences and voices are underrepresented in the museum’s collections and the stories we tell and who may experience barriers to accessing opportunities that museums and galleries offer.
Previous experience of working in a museum is not required and you do not need to have academic qualifications; we are looking for someone who has experience of shaping and delivering impactful and high-quality community-led creative spaces and events programmes.
